Now Offering Trauma Focused Therapy

What is Trauma Focused Therapy?

Trauma Focused Therapy emphasizes and understands how a traumatic experience can impact the client’s mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. This type of therapy understands the connection between a trauma experience and the client’s emotional and behavioral responses to many things in life. The purpose of trauma-focused therapy is to use specific techniques to help the client feel safe and to physically desensitize the client’s experiences.

Expectations of Trauma Focused Therapy:

  • Realizes the widespread impact of trauma
  • Recognizes the signs and symptoms of trauma in clients and families
  • Responds by fully integrating knowledge about trauma into all practices
  • Re-Traumatization – Avoided at all costs
